Comments Thread For: David Morrell Overwhelms Kalvin Henderson, Stops Him In 4th Round

MINNEAPOLIS - David Morrell Jr. gave the fans in his adopted hometown what they came to see Saturday night. Morrell mostly overwhelmed Kalvin Henderson, until referee Luis Pabon had seen enough during the fourth round. Pabon stepped between them to stop their scheduled 12-round, 168-pound championship match at 2:35 of the fourth round.

Yawn. This guy needs to fight somebody before he rants about Benavidez, Plant, etc. That phony belt shouldn't earn him a big fight when he has beaten nothing but tomato cans.

This is a good fighter for Andrade to test the waters at 68.

        Good suggestion.

Morrell seems to have a good engine, aggression, some craftiness, and some pop. But man he looks slow.

Morrell arguably would bring more skills to the table against Benavidez than a good number of guys that Benavidez has fought. I would like to see that fight.

Do you really think andrade is going to test the water with Morell jr? He didn't do it with Lara back in the day, and now much older and 16 pounds heavier is going to do it against a younget, bigger, stronger and heavier handed than Erislandy. Go figure.

This guy will expose Benavidez. Benavidez despite his long career has not convinced too much. Morell is more completed, faster and athletic. Morell will dismantle him. I bet Benavidez will avoid him as much as he can...

Yup, somehow he thinks he is ready for benavidez… I seem to think otherwise. Him and Andrade is a good fight to get a gauge on both at 68
