Comments Thread For: George Kambosos-Devin Haney: Stats & Stakes

By Cliff Rold - It took a little extra time with the scale for the champion, but we have a fight (ESPN, 9 PM EST). We already had an event. Somewhere between 40-50,000-plus fans will head to Marvel Stadium in Melbourne for the homecoming of an unexpected lightweight king. The saga that got George Kambosos to the title, from mandatory to Triller bid to postponements ad infinitum.

Hyped for this one, also picking Haney by decision but wouldnt be surprised if it ends in a controversial decision by Kambosos

I really think Kambosos hit the jackpot beating Lopez, but Lopez made as many mistakes as one can make for that fight, came in throwing it all in the first, gettin dropped, family drama, covid … u name it, if an upset was gonna happen that was the moment for Kambosos

3 SD in his 3 last fights i dont think Kambosos is as dominant as ppl are making him to be

    Haney by decision

Kambosos seems like a very uptight, nervous guy. But I think that's how he is, and wounds himself up for a fight I guess.

Maybe it's that Greek personality I don't know. He's got a lovely wife, kids and is so young. He can retire if he gets badly beaten by Haney, the money is good.

I forgot to add, viewers in America are so spoilt.

George and Devin have to fight at an odd time to please American networks so they can watch it at night, lovely on a Saturday night.

Try being here in Europe or Africa and having to wake up in the middle of the night to watch a fight from America.

just watched the haney linares fight. haney clearly won convincingly against a top rated fighter. kambo fought a weight drained lopez and never hurt him though he did win the fight. kambo is kind of sloppy and won't be able to keep the bigger younger faster sharpshooter off of him. kambo has a huge heart but i think haney wins by SD

I'm not a huge Teo fan and I think Loma would win a rematch, but his loss to Kambosos just has the feelings of a fluke, given his problems at the time.

I don’t understand something, please someone clarify. Shouldn’t this fight be over already in Australia with there time being 14 hours ahead of the US. 7 AM Australia time is 9 PM EST in the US. Tonight’s fight on ESPN at 9 PM EST is basically a replay correct for those in the US???
