  • Steven Luevano in The Running For Juanma in January

Sources in Puerto Rico have advised BoxingScene.com that WBC featherweight champion Steven Luevano is another possible option for Juan Manuel Lopez in January. Lopez will defend his WBO super bantweight title on October 10 against Rogers Mtagwa. He already has a date of January 23 on HBO, with show taking place in Puerto Rico. [details]

I'm excited about this fight. I think Luevano is an excellent boxer and his counterpunching skills are great. Juan ma is the kind of fighter than will take Luevano in deep so I doubt this would be a boring fight.

Before people start losing their **** about the Caballero fight maybe not happening...

Lopez still has a fight on Oct. 10. NOTHING will really be deeply discussed until after that fight. Everything we're hearing now means virtually nothing.

If it's late October/early November and we're not hearing anything, then it's time to panic.

Interesting fight, I think Luevano can test Juanma's boxing abilities and may beat him if he is careful with Juanma's power.

Gamboa should fight Luevano, while Lopez fights Caballero
