I normally agree with this but mostly when it comes down to fighters looking for an easy way out. The issue here is refs aren't the same as the days of the fights you mentioned. They've been trained to stop fighters sooner, less risk to the fighter and for their own sake. You think a ref wants to know he was responsible for the death of a fighter because he failed to stop it sooner? It's a huge burden on everyone. Yes, it is unfortunate because we do not know if the fighter that was halted had it in him to pull out the upset and be safe and healthy later on. There is no way to know that. That is the gamble a ref has to make. Nowadays they rather played it safe and not even attempt to find out.

I would have liked to have seen him get at least 3 full rounds of a 12 round fight.........but the coach has a better sense of his fighter's well being from ringside than I do on TV.

The way Lemeuix was talking post-fight tells me his corner was correct in stopping the fight. The fighter was courageous but sometimes tough fighters have to be saved from themselves.

I think it was the right call for exactly the reasons he said. It's not his duty give people the satisfaction of seeing his fighter slump to the floor. The 'fight' was over at that point.

No explanation needed - he was being battered senseless!

Sparing your fighter from a beat down is a great decision.

I wanna see Canelo vs Benavides and charlos

This was no Coralles v Castillo or Gatti v Ward, they were great because of the back and forth.

This was a vicious one way flogging and as entertaining as it was seeing Lemieux out on his feet showing pure heart the corner was right to stop it.

To answer, did you read All my post ? I love COMPETITIVE fights no matter how violent and bloody! But not mismatches where everyone knows what is going to happen.Gotti Ward,Corrales Castillo ?Are you kidding? There's no comparison.
