Comments Thread For: Jermell Charlo: I Have Different Type Of Power When I Punch; Hagler, Hearns Put Together

Jermell Charlo expects that his two reigns as a 154-pound champion will be appreciated more once he retires. As the IBF/WBA/WBC champion approaches his 32nd birthday, he has thought more about his accomplishments and if those feats will lead him to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, New York. The Houston native realizes how much avenging the other blemish on his professional record Saturday night would go toward enhancing his legacy.

154 is not a great division but I appreciate Jerrmell having taken on the best the division has to offer unlike his twin. But to say he punches like Hitman and Hearn put together, like todays kids would say , STOP THE CAP

He definitely hits just as hard as they did.

But he aint got anywhere near the ring IQ they had, which is why he doesn't have as many KOs as they did.

They knew how to break down and destroy opponents.

Charlo only knows how to destroy, but some fighters can't simply be destroyed, you need to break em down first and then destroy em.

His older brother has the same problem.

They just wana head hunt and get the KO, they don't invest in the KO with body punching.

Lmao! Don’t compare yourself to Hagler/Hearns in any way what so ever…Hagler was very heavy-handed, and Hearns had deadly one-punch ko power. 18 out of 34 is average power..especially against cans!

Castano is damn tough but so is Charlo--probably another war and possible KO by either guy.

If you witnessed Tommy blasting out iron chin Roberto Duran, you would laugh at Charlo making a silly statement like that.
