Comments Thread For: Stevenson-Valdez: Judges, Referee Revealed For 130-Pound Title Unification Fight

Two judges with whom Shakur Stevenson and Oscar Valdez are familiar will officially score their fight Saturday night. BoxingScene.com has learned that the Nevada State Athletic Commission assigned Nevada judges Tim Cheatham and Dave Moretti and Oklahoma's David Sutherland to work their 12-round, 130-pound title unification fight at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Nevada's Kenny Bayless has been chosen as the referee who'll officiate their fight.

Shakar is from Crawford/Ward camp, not TMT. In fact he turned FMW Jr so they would have it in for him. Steroid-laced tea won't Valdez in the fight. Don't believe he is powerful enough to rig the fight like Canelo is about to do with Bivol. #WaiverGym

I just hope Kenny Bayless enforces the rules right away, unlike the last time that he allowed Tyson Fury to rabbit-punch and choke the 'Bronze-Bum' Deontay Wilder into a concussion and a dent-skull.

I cant say that I seen Shakur Stevenson or Oscar Valdez to be as dirty as the 'Gypsy-Bum' but you never know what PED cheats like Fury and Valdez are capable of. Shakur might have to cheap shot Valdez like Mayweather did Ortiz, to level the playing field -- but I dont condone that disgraceful behavior.

But anyways, veteran Judge Dave Morretti caught my attention, the other two judges Tim Cheatham & David Sutherland are the new kids on the block compared to the old-man thats been calling fights since 15 rounders.

A coin flip with Dave Morretti I guess. I'm not sure what to make of Morretti ,he's made some bad calls like most if not all judges, however like I mentioned hes been doing this since the 70's, Dave seems to be looking for everything as his scores are constantly close, good I guess? I dont know.

Moretti's scores also have contributed to two of the most debated decisions in boxing history: Michael Spinks over Holmes, and Ray Leonard over Marvelous Marvin Hagler.

Moretti, 59, has held in his hands the fate of almost every top boxer since "Star Wars" was released.
Dave Moretti was unemployed and his wife was pregnant with their first child when they pulled up their Western New York stakes in the mid-1970s and headed for a fresh

Below are more questionable and historic decisions by Dave Morretti :

Jermain Taylor UD Bernard Hopkins II

Such a shame....bitter fans are still holding Bayless's officiating of the Mayweather/Maidana 2 fight against him. Let! It! Go! It's been what, damn near 9 years since?!

Bayless has always been fair and consistent across the board.

Stop your pissing & moaning already.

Valdez wasn't on PEDs though, he took a diuretic. It's cool that you don't like the guy, but don't change the facts.

Diuretics can be used as masking agents. #WaiverGym
