Comments Thread For: Lennox Lewis Says This is The Tyson Fury Era: 'Those Fights With Deontay Really Cemented It'

Lennox Lewis believes the current period of heavyweight boxing will someday be synonymous with Tyson Fury's name. The British heavyweight great knows something about being remembered fondly. Lewis was arguably the top heavyweight in the world in the 90s and early 2000s and a household name, a position that Fury presumably finds himself in today.

Lennox kissing A. It's not the Tyson Fury era until he beats Whyte, Joshua, Usyk. You got to beat the big guys in your era. Fury spent half his time fighting boxers outside the top-20. If he's so good - why was he doing that? You also need a lot more than one title defense to be a great.

Who can argue with 1 title defense, a couple robberies, anti-doping violations and a ban? Stuff of legends.

Not until he beats either Usyk or Joshua it's not. Klitschko, a one trick pony in Wilder and Whyte just isnt going to cut it.

It could turn out to be his era but the Wilder fights don't cement it imo. They were entertaining sure, but Wilder hadn't beaten much quality opposition and he's not looking likely to do so in the future. Just being a big puncher isn't enough at the top level.

Who can argue holding all the belts in the division, beating your former hero 3 times amd ending Wlad's decade long reign. He is also credited with exposing you as a snake and a complete coward. Don't forget you once stated Wilder was better than Joe Louis. So Fury is an ATG since he handled him 3 times. Stay angry you complete and total loser.

If that’s the case Bowe was the man of his era he bested Holyfield in his trilogy not Lewis who didn’t get to fight Bowe for the same reasons A.J didn’t get to fight some guys , fighters really have to think before they speak .

IMO Fury as to beat the winner of Joshua-Usyk then he can ride off into the sunset.
