Comments Thread For: Spence-Ugas: Purchase Price And Sweepstakes Revealed For April 16 Showtime PPV Event

Fans can once again expect to pay a premium price to watch unified WBC/IBF welterweight titlist Errol Spence. The latest Pay-Per-View headliner is far more incentivized for consumers. BoxingScene.com has confirmed that a suggested retail price of $74.99 has been set for the April 16 Showtime PPV, headlined by the WBC/IBF/WBA welterweight title unification bout between Spence and Yordenis Ugas (27-4, 12KOs) at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

These fights should be $20 then way more people will buy including hordes that stream, they try to squeeze the lemon too much and its counterproductive.

Its a good fight but not worth that kind of money.

Free streams should be popping that night. Haymon wants my $75 x 2. Crawford vs Spence then the winner of Jermell vs. Brian.

Crawford 3x Undisputed. Put a cap on it. This guy is this generation's beat fighter. No rigged cards, PEDs, catch weights, hydrations clauses

Does anyone give a *** about this fight? I only see any decent number of responses when Spence utters Crawfords name. Doesn’t seem like anyone cares. Decent fight, but Spence is a duck and it has soured peoples opinion of him.

Well, you would think so but PPV in the UK is cheaper and people still stream.

I’m sure that they would get more buys, but would they get 3x or 4x more buys? No. 4x more buyers is a huge and unrealistic increase for what is a niche sport and two fighters that aren’t crossover stars. You would be looking for a market that isn’t there for this fight. Business isn’t that simple. If it was, every business in the world would be trying to cut prices drastically if they could get a 400% increase on customers and make more money, but they don’t because all markets are limited.

so, the truth is they wouldn’t increase the buys by that amount, it’s just not realistic and they know that. That’s why they have experts in this field that know how to price it to get maximum revenue, even if it means being overpriced. If they could bring in more money by making it cheaper, they would but the buying market simply isn’t there. All they care about is net profit and set the price according to the realistic buyer rate.

the problem with events is it’s a product you don’t keep and is available to stream, so people will always chose that option regardless of cost.
