Comments Thread For: Canelo-Bivol: WBA To Announce It'll Sanction As Light Heavyweight Title Fight

The WBA respects Wladimir Klitschko's position and sacrifices related to the war in Ukraine, but it will still sanction Dmitry Bivol-Canelo Alvarez as a light heavyweight championship match.

Clinchko should get away from boxing. We watched his f**kin boring wrestling for years. Don't let him use emotions to attack a Russian man who are "just doing his job".

Tough call, I like Bivol, god fighter who probably beats Canelo. But now he has to either shutCanelo out or knock him out to win bc he’s now the Russian fall guy. No it isn’t fair but it should make a good fight, feel bad for Canelo. He better be ready for this tooling that he’s about to get. Call it off, you still has time.

So the wba took a moral stand but once they realized they’d be taking a significant hit in sanctioning fees, morality and pro Ukrainian sentiment went right out the window.

Good!(the Abcs shouldn't be bringing politics into boxing, its a violation of fighters human rights to be punished over what they have no say so in. They would have been thrown in jail for speaking against *****,& they'd accomplish nothing)

                    Hahaha, incredible.

Really, if everyone truly believed in the power of boycotting nations that launch wars of aggression, which I do, then boxing, and all sports and cultural events, would have spent the years between 1945 right up to now anywhere but in America, Britain or Russia. Can you imagine if all of America’s brilliant sportspeople never saw the light of day thanks to all the Central American, Middle Eastern and South East Asian bull****? Not mention the UK’s role in Syria, Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Now to the WBA. These MFs were always gonna be first to eschew any semblance of principles in favour of a dollar. If he was at a loose end, that twat, Mendoza, would almost certainly harvest his mother’s organs and put them up as one of his crappy belts.
