Comments Thread For: Kell Brook Wants To Fight on June or July Date, Says Shalom

Former welterweight champion Kell Brook is looking to return on a date in the summer and he wants a "big fight" next. Brook was in action last month at Manchester Arena, in his long awaited showdown with domestic rival Amir Khan.

"When they were unable to agree on the terms, Brook quickly stepped in to replace Eubank in the fight."

So why the "feud"? Brook took a fight that eubank, for whatever reasons, didn't want at that time. So what?

If I recall Eubank posted some messages after Brook got stopped saying something like “my team don’t have towels” in reference to Dom Ingle throwing the towel in after Brook said something previously about Eubank losing his pen when it came to signing for the GGG fight.

Brook unsurprisingly took offence and the grudge was born. I don’t think it is a serious grudge though, seems more petty than anything.

Either way I don’t think they should fight as it will be an uneven contest, either Brook will be giving up too much size or Eubank will be too drained.

Ok, thanks for that. Unless (and it's highly likely he is) brooks is just looking for one final cash out fight then I agree eubanks is too big for him. Brooks never had it in him to seriously step up to 154 when he should have done years ago. Golovkin was a money grab with ingle under orders to throw the towel in as soon as golovkin started landing imo.

This is a cash out fight, can't see how Brook bears Eubank. If Brooks not retiring, I'd prefer to see him fight Thurman or Benn.

I think 157 would be fair! Brook vs. Eubank Jr. would be good, but I would rather see Brook vs. Benn @ 150!

I don't think there's any real feud, it's just a blatant attempt at selling the fight. Brook saved Eubank from a likely KO loss to GGG, and now seems to be getting picked on by the bigger younger fighter. If I was Brook I'd insist on the lions' share of the purse and a favorable weight (155-156).

It seems to Nash that Brook and Shalom are trying to swerve the Khan rematch. Khan was never down, never hurt, and didn't have a mark on him after the fight. The ref had to finish the job for Brook, just as Khan was planning a late surge to score an exciting late KO. Brook don't duck. Fulfil your obligations to Khan. Once Khan levels it up, I'd like to see them join forces as a boxing tag-team. This will take off and become a thing. Other possible teams on other divisions Joshua and Wilder, Bivol and Bieterbiev, Canelo and Golovkin, Eddie Hills and Big John Fury. Great teams. Boxing needs this. Nash out.

Nash out...nonsense. There's nothing to swerve! If Khan doesn't exercise his contractual right to a rematch, Brook has to take it, or pay Khan to step-aside. Alternatively, he could do what his promoter suggested he would do, as recently as YESTERDAY and retire. This article has clearly been written on the premise that Khan is not moving forward with the rematch. I think there's one more week left on that option...but I don't know that for certain.
