Comments Thread For: Bivol: Focused On Being Prepared Mentally And Physically; Winning Over Press Does Not Win You Fights

SAN DIEGO - Dmitry Bivol isn't worried about winning the press conference or any other pre-fight aspect of his upcoming showdown with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

I disagree the press conference and weigh in both have a psychological affect on a fighter. Ali was the sports leader in psychological warfare and proved it works on a certain level

Bivol will get bullied badly. He and his fearless act will be another Canelo victim.

"His fearless 'act'?" What does that even mean? So because he's not a no-class foul-mouthed hoodrat $-hit-talker like Caleb Plant and BJ Saunders his calm no b.s. demeaner is now an "act?" I personally much prefer when they shake hands and show respect at a press conference and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Not sure what you do for a living but not getting emotional and excited is a sign of maturity and professionalism. I get these guys don't all come from Ivy League upbringings but It's pretty funny how critical all the keyboard dadbods are of World Champions... Just curious then what you would prefer he did.

I can't fault Canelo for taking on a difficult opponent in Bivol, who is either number one or two in the light heavyweight division.

I can't rate Gilberto Ramirez above him unless he does get a big fight and wins.

Folks are gonna in for a surprise when this dude doesn’t shrink to the occasion. Expect a very good tactical fight that’ll come down to the final three rounds.
