What is his purse? The best thing Whyte can do is show up in his absolute best shape and have the fight of his life. Sometimes a fighter might get paid so much that the outcome becomes irrelevant to them? I hope this isn’t the case.
Still the fact that the purse is the hype for this fight says a lot. Oh well. I think this is the first time I’ve thought about the fight.
    Matinee’s are nice sometimes though.

I’ve never been a Fury fan but it’s hard to hate him. He always makes me laugh out loud.

Dominant HW of this era setting a mid level opponent up financially for life.

Every future heavyweight champion had to start off at the bottom. Louis, Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes, Tyson, Lewis, Holyfield, etc. I don't know what makes Whyte thinks he is any different. If he loses 30 lbs, comes in shape, and beats Fury then he becomes the shot caller. That's just the way it is.

Maybe Whyte looked at the UK market and figured that other than AJ, Fury vs himself would sell like crazy at thevdomestic level. Kind of like we tend to focus on well known fighters arevin the US.. After seeing Brook vs Khan, i'm thinking that was his frame of mind, but its just a guess.

Now that fighters are thinking business and not letting others rip them off it's every man for himself. I remember reading what happened to Manny, Tyson and surely thousands of others before...we reap what we sow. The Ali reform Act was hard to get through and lost it's teeth in the end.. States can just pass the buck to the commisions etc. and here we are.

I think Whyte's gift will be equivalent to the one Fury sent Wallin before the first Wilder fight lol. Seriously, Whyte, Wilder, Chisora were full time boxers who realized way to late that you have to work on your craft (Wilderbtook pride in the fact thatbhevwas literally winging it).. Like Crawford says, you don't play boxing.

On a side note, imagine what Manny Stewart could have done with Joe Joyce.. anyways, Anderson vs Usyk is the only showdown at HW that's really interesting. Fury before and after Wlad, still not convinced, but he didn't pick the weak era he fights in...at least he knows his craft and I respect that.

Unless Fury sent gifts to others who were the A Side before him, he can't be that delusional. I'm just hoping Whyte doesn't show up in one of those buster Douglas type moments and ruins the actual matchup Fury vs Joshua... because this is how boxing goes often.
