Comments Thread For: Shalom: Brook vs. Eubank Jr. is Very Realistic - If Both Are Realistic About Weight

Promoter Ben Shalom of BOXXER believes Kell Brook vs. Chris Eubank Jr. is a big pay-per-view fight. He thinks the fight is very possible to make - if both boxers are realistic with the weight limit.

It’s not going to happen unless Eubank moves on weight. Brook will take the easier option and fight the smaller Benn. Brook doesn’t now need the money after the Khan fight so what carrot are Sauerland and Eubank offering unless they throw crazy money at it which they won’t as Eubank is too old. Agree with BJS on that - if he was going to make a mark on the sport he’d have done it by 32 and he hasn’t really. He does look a lot better under Jones admittedly, but he still hasn’t beaten a single fighter of note unless you count Degale who turned up for a cash out at the end of his career. Looks great on youtube clips like Garcia but thats meaningless inside the ring.

If Eubank Jr. isn't willing to come down a few pounds to a catch-weight then he shouldn't be calling out a welterweight in the first place. Anything to avoid fighting someone decent at his own weight.

Brook should try to land a fight with Thurman. I think that'd be an interesting style match-up.

I don't think Charlo has a dance partner at the moment. Eubank should go that route

Well said, Brook is a career ww, he may not be able to make the weight now, but that doesn't make him a middleweight all of a sudden. It's not like Eubank's the champ, like it was the case against GGG when Brook first tested the waters up at middleweight.

Just bin this one off. Eubank had a spell at 168 which makes dropping to 155 late in his career feel a bit silly, especially when he could be close to a title shot at 160. While, Kell obviously shouldn't be fighting above light middle.

They've both got more suitable rivals available.

Kell is a light middle at best , Jr. is nothing but a wanker!

If it is not at 160 pounds, I don't want the fight to happen.

Having this fight at a catch weight completely, devalues the fight.
