Breaking News: Al Haymon and PBC counters DAZN’s offer to Canelo Alvarez, Now offers Canelo a 2 fight 100 million deal that will have him fight Jermall Charlo in May and David Benavidez in September

Canelo Alvarez has reportedly now been offered an increased two-fight deal by Al Haymon's PBC to fight Jermall Charlo in May, then David Benavidez in Sept. Eddie Hearn's offer is Dmitry Bivol, then Gennady Golovkin. Both worth near $100million. [According to @DanRafael1]

Given that Canelo hasn’t taken a risky fight in four years since 2018, it’s asking a lot of him to suddenly display great courage by facing WBA light heavyweight champion Bivol (19-0, 11 KOs) and Golovkin this year.

Even with his recent arrest, Charlo (32-0, 22 KOs) might be too tempting for Canelo not to take because he’s vulnerable right now and someone that looks like easy pickings.

Jermall looked pathetic in his last fight against Juan Macias Montiel, and he appears to have been living it up ever since.

You hate to say it, but Andre Ward is right about Canelo. He’s an “opportunist”with the way he chooses his opposition, and it doesn’t make sense for him to veer away from that to fight Bivol and Golovkin in 2022.

In the case of Canelo, the old saying may be true. ‘Once an opportunist always an opportunist.’

Good money to beat up much lesser fighters. PBC really is trash setting this precedence that all you gotta do is pad your record with a bunch of bums and wait for a cash out. Did it with Wilder. Doing it with Ennis. And people say he’s not part of the protection club.

Oh go on. That's a big offer by the PBC. Id love to see those fights more than the Bivol GGG combo.

Interesting development. Cancel fights offer a certain amount of status and apparently revenue for there to be this large of offers. The question becomes who does Canelo want to face less: GGG or Benavidez and is it worth $20 million. Of course the devil is in the details with these types of offers ...

I think the Bivol fight is still the one that offers the most possible challenge out of all of those.

Take the Bivol fight, Charlo is done. Is he even out of jail?

How about this - Andrade at 168 on DAZN then Bivol at 175?

Mmm. The fights I'd like to see for Canelo in order of preference are:

                Bivol
                Benvidez
                Charlo
                GGG

With GGG being at the bottom mainly cos we saw it twice already and I'm struggling to see how an extra 4 years are gonna improve GGGs chances rather than because I think Jermall particularly has a better shot at beating Canelo. Fact the only dude I really give a decent shot at winning is Bivol.

On balance I'm probably about equally split between the two options, maybe just slightly leaning towards the PBC offer

Canelo leaked that DAZN offer to the media telling guys like Copinger reporting that he was on the verge of signing. But looks like he did that to get PBC to up their offer. Smart move by Canelo playing both sides against each other creating urgency to increase the offer.

Free agent Canelo creating a bidding war and will cash out with either DAZN or PBC and win another fighter of the year award.

Meanwhile top P4P free agent Bud Crawford has had two top promoters tell him he’s not worth the money and he’s currently helping Amir Khan train for his next fight. No word on his next move because he has none.

                    Levels to this game.
