Comments Thread For: Vito Mielnicki Jr. Reunites With Joe Goossen, To Train Alongside Ryan Garcia In San Diego

Vito Mielnicki Jr. has reunited with the trainer he thought all along would be the perfect man for the job. Vito Mielnicki Sr. told BoxingScene.com on Tuesday that the 19-year-old welterweight prospect and Joe Goossen have agreed to work together again. Goossen trained Mielnicki in the Los Angeles area in late in 2020 and early in 2021 for two bouts, before Mielnicki returned to his home in northern New Jersey to train with Muhammad Salaam, with whom Mielnicki previously worked.

Vito is probably gonna learn from Garcia how to become a social media star instead of learning the sweet science from Goosen.

Might be a good idea, I don't think he has a very high ceiling in the sport.

If they make the mistake of putting those two to spar against each other, one of them is going to get hurt.
That someone will probably be Garcia's psyche, I'm not sure either one of the two will ever win a title.
I could be wrong that in particular, but probably not wrong about Garcia psyche coming out the worst then what it already was.

It’s been awhile since Goosen has trained a quality fighter. With the addition of Garcia and Mielnicki, it’s gonna be awhile longer.

He looked better with Joe IMO so good move for him, he has declined drastically after leaving Joe, not that I'm all that high on Vito but I did see Regression after he left Joe and headed back East

Interesting ... Goosen strikes me as easy going playboy - I dont know if he's the best for Ryan. I wouldve rather seen Ryan with Teddy Atlas, who at the very least is serious in training. Ryan needs someone who'll keep him disciplined. Move your training to Nebraska with no WIFI. Vito like somebody said seems to have regressed since leaving Goosen. I hope he does better returning to Goosen. But a Jersey boy and Ryan together - seems like a good nightclub crew, not a serious career driven comrades.
