I don’t think Benavidez wants that smoke. He’s content fighting the Angulo’s, Ellis’es and Kyrone Davis’es of the world.
Breaking: Hearn has told reporters he wants Andrade vs David Benavidez. Hearn said WBC & WBO would agree for winners to fight and determine single mandatory for Canelo Alvarez.

This makes sense. I think anybody that wants to get Canelo but does not get the call immediately should challenge Benavides, who's the most deserving challenger at 168. If they beat Benavides they take his spot as the premiere challenger at 168, and if they fall short, Benavides gains exposure and further strengthens his position at 168. -
Would be a fight between two guys who seem to have difficulty nailing down a top dance partner. Hopefully it gets done.Comment

You sound really happy with these boxing politics.
How sad.
How can we fans expect good fights when people like you are delighted they aren't made? Very sad is me being kind.Last edited by M312; 02-03-2022, 01:47 PM.Comment

David Benavidez: 25 years old
Champions faced: Anthony Dirrell, David Lemieux up next
Demetrius Andrade: almost 34 years old
Champions faced: (none)
Both guys have a resume thinner than wax paper, but no champion at any weight has a softer resume than Andrade's. He's the last person whose fans should be calling out the competition level of other fighters.
Fighting washed up champs like Benavidez is doing is pretty sad, but Andrade fights guys who were never good to begin with and never will be.Comment

This is what should be happening anyway. Now get some of these other scary clowns in there and make them FIGHT for a shot at Canelo...not beg, take safe fights and taunt others who want a Canelo payday while doing nothing to earn it.
I say, good! Make it happen!
And I'm a Charlo fan but I don't think he gets the Canelo fight unless he moves up to 168. Sadly...I believe he'll turn the offer down and make some type of excuse. Again, I say....make em ALL fight one another.
I hope Canelo continues "ducking" these guys until they test one another. Nobody wants to see a lightly tested challenger against Canelo on the big stage....we all know what happens later in the fight when Canelo gets your timing down.Comment

I'm not always up to speed with the rankings and machinations of the sanctioning bodies so excuse me for my questions:
This would be for the 168lb mandatory? Doesn't Andrade have to face and defeat Zach Parker before he's the WBO mandatory for Canelo?Comment
