Comments Thread For: Shields: Serrano-Taylor Very Competitive, Hard Fight; Amanda Will Edge It Because Of Power

Claressa Shields is looking forward to the Amanda Serrano-Katie Taylor fight, just like every other fan of women's boxing. The three-division champion is on her own collision course with rival Savannah Marshall, assuming she defeats Ema Kozin in their middleweight title fight February 5 in Cardiff, Wales. Shields also has April 30, the date on which Serrano and Taylor will square off at Madison Square Garden, circled on her calendar.

Initially this should start out as a hard fight, but Serrano's overall superiority in the ring will start to breakdown Taylor in the middle rounds.
Along with her punching power, and having to wait 2 extra years for this fight to finally happen are going to spell disaster for Taylor.
I believe that Serrano is going to either TKO, or knockout Taylor before the 12 rounds are completed, but it should be a great fight between
the 2 best 135 pound female fighters in boxing.
Involving the greatest, and most accomplished female boxer in the history of the sport.

So after reading my girl Claressa comments and speaking solely about the power, what happens with the power hitting Savannah Marshall when you two fight? The fans want to know!

Cool to see Claressa giving support to her fellow female fighters.

I think Serrano will be too much for Taylor. Delfine Persoon was taller and used her height and reach to very obviously defeat Taylor and was robbed and Serrano might use her height at reach in a similar manner but Serrano throws straighter punches than Persoon.

Thanks for the correction, championship fights should be for the same amount of rounds for both genders.
That doesn't change me belief that Amanda Serrano will TKO, or knockout Katie Taylor.
There's a lot of pent up animosity in Serrano due to the 2 year delay, and not even knowing if the fight would ever take place.
I think that Serrano's going to take all of 2 years of stress, frustration, and despair of possibly losing the biggest pay day, and
the opportunity to showcase her superior boxing abilities to the largest number of fans (a chance of a lifetime), out on Katie Taylor.
I'm anticipating a spectacular fight between them both, until Serrano's power starts to take affect on Katie Taylor's anatomy.
