I see no reason why Joe Smith and Beterbiev cant fight next. Dont wait around to see if Canelo picks you just fight each other and make a statement.

Joe has done very well for himself, has just focused on boxing for the last few years, after the big name Hopkins win.

He is a fan friendly fighter, good puncher, has his flaws but he won a world title. He can surely make one million or more for a Beterbiev fight. I don't give him much chance to beat Beterbiev, but it would be an entertaining fight.

Of course, he would love the Canelo fight most of all, for the biggest lottery. I wouldn't want to see that though, against Canelo.

See, this is why I love Canelo fighting Makabu. Because of it:
Smith will fight Beterbiev.
Bivol will have to fight Zurdo.
Charlo will debut at 168 vs someone decent.
Benavides and Plant might fight each other, and so on and so on.
Boxing can't stand still for Canelo.

I mean I get all fighters sent that career high payday but the whole sport pausing to see who's next is ignorant. Good post!
