Andrew Moloney was among the more interested observers for the final major title fight of last year. Japan's Kazuto Ioka (28-2, 16KOs) made the fifth defense of his WBO junior bantamweight title, with a victory against countryman late replacement Ryoji ***unaga (15-5, 14KOs). The bout took place on New Year's Eve at Ota-City Gymnasium in Tokyo, the tenth such time that Ioka headlined a show on the date.

Kazuto Ioka is fading fast, Francisco Rodriguez Jr arguably beat him ; I was expecting a demolition job on Ryoji ***unaga. Andrew Moloney sees Ioka's decline, even if Ioka does not pick him I can see Jerwin bringing Ioka's reign come to an end, that would only help Moloney when the WBO rankings shift -- not that he needs the WBO, he is ranked higher by the WBA and WBC.

Moloney needs to earn a title shot. His last two wins aren't enough imo. Hopefully Ioka can reschedule with Jerwin for his next fight

At first I read it wrong. I thought jeesuz WTF? Tony Yoka's gonna mash him. But I'd still like to see Yoka vs both Maloneys at once. I saw Anre the giant take on a dozen migets before so don't tell me it can't be done.Although looking back it was a tragic day for the little people.
