Comments Thread For: Fury-Whyte: Purse Bid Hearing Delayed By At Least One Week; Whyte To Appeal 80/20 Purse Split Ruling

Nothing has been or continues to be easy about the process to proceed with the next WBC heavyweight title fight. BoxingScene.com has learned that a purse bid hearing for the ordered clash between WBC/lineal champion Tyson Fury and WBC interim titlist Dillian Whyte has been postponed by at least one week. The matter was scheduled to serve as the subject of a January 11 purse bid hearing, only to move back to January 18--if not later--as Whyte plans to appeal the purse split assigned to the championship fight.

Whyte & Hearn looking for a hand out in reality 80-20 is unfair to Fury the purse split should be at least 90-10 based on both fighters earnings.

Whyte needs just take the 20% and get that l loss. Then let the REAL champs fight.

I think people would be slightly more sympathetic if Whyte wasn't knocked unconscious just two fights ago

Whyte is now 34. The past PED abuse diminishing his athletic and intellectual capacity by the hour

Knocked out by the ghost of Povetkin. Ducked Wallin at the last possible moment. And here he is trying to sabotage his undeserved shot at the title.

Whyte excels at running his mouth and wasting other fighters' time.

I am totally against a split dominated by past earnings. Whyte has earned his challenger position and the fight should have taken place a couple of years ago. It is the importance of the fight itself, not past earnings which should and must dictate the split. A,s noted the WBC splits in cases like there can be up to 55-45. So this should be no different.

Top Rank is known for always trying to get the best pay for it's fighters. It should not affect the decision of the Commission.

I do love the various posters throwing the kitchen sink at it as to why the WBC should be allowed to ignore its own rules.
