Lopez looked about as distressed as a kid in a candy store - all the while taking a shelacking. He'll have to rededicate himself now. Seems this happens when a fighter has a big win like he did against Loma and like Douglas did after stopping Tyson. They didn't live up to things in their next fights.

Yeah I am. Because their bull**** with their fighters avoiding Haney, has caused allsorts of problems with the franchise undisputed crap. But they will still make cross promotional big fights sometimes which allows divisions to progress. Ramirez vs Hooker at 140 was a good example. Both lots putting something on the line. That's the way boxing should be. Anyway why have you started responding to my comments. Surely I'm not worthy.Comment

Teo Sr is at fault the most in my eyes. The money spending, a damn manager helps with such things, weight draining to the point of making yourself puke after meals….C’mom Sr that’s a red light and you drove right through it. They needed Joey G in their corner, as he was the one helping devise strategies. Couldn’t afford him, but shoulda worked out a plan to pay him when Teo got his purse, same with the Nutritionist. All that is on the Manager and Trainer…Sr.
Teo is effed up at 140. He will get his a$$ whipped by any B level fighter.
Mental stability, his dad should’ve helped with additional therapy and been the first to notice. As another poster said, Bob will match him hard enough that Teo doesn’t wanna fight anymore probably.Comment

Yeah it's true. Teofimo looked awful, he looked slow, sluggish and pudgy. Lopez didn't resemble the explosive and in shape fighter the night of the Loma fight.

Don’t take me seriously mate, it’s just banter

U make for some interesting points which sound valet, but then the hate comes out in your comments like a bitter B(itchhh) I ain't f(uking wit U!
That wasnt the problem here. Teo blew through his finances and couldn't afford a nutritionist, assistant trainer or even a competent cut man for ***sake. Teo has no one to blame but himself or Dad. Where was this sympathy for Loma?? What goes around, comes around and they got theirs tenfold.
Now he can move up,where he's not going to have the physical advantages he had at 135,and get humbled there as well. "The Takeover".....is over.Comment

But do come along mate, stop trying to delude yourself that pbc doesn’t make good fights….they just don’t cater to Hearn which is what you want

Yes. Yes. That was the problem. The weight.
It wasn't the fact that Lopez didn't have a clue and couldn't adapt.
Or that he underestimated Kambosos. It was the weight folks. Simple.
It also wasn't because for whatever reason Lopez didn't get any decent feedback in between rounds.
And Lopez Snr just didn't have a clue what to say to his son, to make him win.Comment

Very forgettable boxer.
I don't even think many would remember him for beating Loma. Beating Loma didn't catapult him to anything, because Lopez couldn't sell more than a few hundred tickets to the Hulu theater, in his very next fight. That's really the only reason they kept postponing his fight against that bum, Kambosos. I never believed the weight excuse or other BS like that.
Lopez is done.Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 01-05-2022, 02:36 AM.Comment
