I'm no fan of Shields but I totally respect her as a Boxer she is fantastic and a switch over to MMA is no easy feat. Taylor is right, what Shields is doing is definitely to be admired.

Taylor made the transition to MMA as well except she just practices it in the sport of boxing. She made a wonderful jump from being an Olympian to becoming a grappler.

A World champ boxer definitely has the toughness, endurance, & athleticism to transfer to MMA. But to think 1 can just jump into MMA after a few months or a year of training is obsurd. A boxer shouldnt even get in there if they arent a Purple Belt minimum in Jits which takes about 3-5yrs.
