Comments Thread For: Frank Sanchez: 2022 is The Year I Hope To Get a Title Shot

By Thomas Gerbasi - Frank Sanchez had an interesting Tuesday morning, as he found out that his opponent on this Saturday's pay-per-view card in Florida, Carlos Negron, was forced out of their bout after testing positive for COVID-19. Yet by the early evening, Sanchez was checked into his hotel with a new opponent, Christian Hammer, and not a care in the world when it comes to this weekend's festivities.

Don’t know how he thinks he will get a title shot in 2022…the titles will be all tied up until mid to late 2023 because of mandatories and rematches. Gone are the days when champs fought more than twice a year unfortunately.

These Cuban guys seem out of the loop all the time . Ortiz has been boxing forever and still doesn’t know fights aren’t supposed to fall on his lap he has to make offers in fights he wants in actual negotiations involving his team not social media appearances . He may luck out and get a final elimination bout which took years to happen since Wilders losses .

I wonder if Sanchez knows there’s elimination bouts before title shots ? He’s looking at a good 2 years time if he takes no losses.

Sanchez looks good. I suspect he'll wreak havoc on anyone not called usyk/fury and will probably become avoided.

Not fighting guys like Christan Hammer, he's not getting a title shot.

Sanchez is a legit contender already, he is top 10 by The Ring. he will get a shot sooner or later.

Sanchez, the next great avoided heavyweight, i believe he beats Wilder, Aj, Whyte right now.
Hopefully with Rematchroom removed from clinging onto belts outside of the ring by early summer the division can move on with a bit more freedom, still 23 is more realistic.
& you know when Usyks beaten Aj again the wba will chirp up with a Helenius etc mando.

Do you think that happens only to Cubans?

In this era I’ve never seen such grown men oblivious to the sports rules ,Ortiz even got himself ejected the first time not following simple protocol in the Wilder fight with simple paper work this was worse then when he abandoned his own mandatory spot with A.J thinking it wouldn’t effect him .
