How can you call it the WORLD cup boxing series, if it's all Mexican. Surely it's the MEXICAN cup boxing series.

If you read the article maybe you'd understand. COVID has caused restrictions in certain areas so they picked Mexico for this specific tournament. When boxers fight for belts the main objective is to eventually fight for a WORLD title right? So seeing as how Torres is the World Boxing Council (WBC) Youth Lightweight Champion he's defending his ranking. You probably haven't heard of this promotion but they do fights on UFC fight pass and they pit fighters from different countries against each other. The same way FIFA break down their qualifiers into regions these guys are doing it by country so eventually there will be tournaments in other countries just COVID is making it difficult at the moment but a few months back it was promoted as Guatemala vs Cuba when Lester Martinez fought Raiko Santana.
