It's not about someone's actual age, it's about their level. Guys get old at different times in this sport. Surely you know that.

I think the idea is that Beterbiev is the most dangerous conceivable opponent right now despite his age, but that the clock is firmly against him so if the fight is gonna take place now should be the time. Personally hold Canelo under absolutely no obligation to fight anyone at 175 (much less cruiser) unless he's becomes a permanent campaigner at either of those weights, but I think that's the point that is being made.

hes better than every single other opponent out there. beterbiev would stop every single opponent that canelo has fought to date


the last two guys they hyped as possibly being the ones to beat beterbiev got stopped before the final bell.
