      He did just fight all the champions at 168,, he can't choose who holds the belts before he gets to the division. Same as Crawford when he cleaned out 140. Canelo has fought more champions and top level guys than anyone active in the sport at this point i would think

        Then he doesn't deserve FOTD if he flourishes in weak divisions for the next four years. It's too early to even debate who would deserve it, but cleaning out weak divisions isn't necessarily worthy of FOTD honors. Uysk just said he'd come back to CW to fight him. If he accepts that challenge it's a step in the right direction and would be a huge accomplishment if he wins. Over the next four years he needs to fight Charlo, Andrade, Bivol, Beterbiev, Benavidez at a minimum. Get through them and he has a legit shot at FOTD and deserving of it.

          It would be career suicide if he fought USYK. So he needs to fight all those guys to win FOTD, who will even fight half that many good guys over the next 9 years considering they fight 2x a year nowadays .. so he basically needs to clean out 160-168-175 to deserve FOTD lol
