Comments Thread For: Marcus Browne On Working With Derrick James: I Felt Like This Is Where I Need To Be

Marcus Browne could not have asked for a better time to link up with one of the top trainers in the sport today. The veteran light heavyweight contender took a leap of faith in relocating to Dallas where he is now working with Derrick James. The move from the East Coast didn't happen in a New York minute for Browne, who put a lot of thought in the switch in coaches ahead of the biggest fight of his pro career as he challenges lineal/WBC/IBF light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev (16-0, 16KOs).

I’m not sold on Derrick James being a great trainer. Errol was already good in my opinion and I don’t feel like Jermell has shown much improvement. I could be wrong I know he’s worked with Errol since the amateurs. This Marcus Browne training will add to his stable and I’ll be watching closely

Good for him to get away from the East Coast.

All the elite trainers are out here in the West.

Making an adjustment with changing trainers is normally part of bigger issues, then it takes a few fights to see if it’s a match almost like getting to know a woman but the discipline is the key and if you can’t get that in order Forgetaboutit!

I don't like Browne but this is a good move and exactly what he needs

                    Just spitting truth, homeboy.

The best trainers are out here in the Western states. Except for John David Jackson.

Even Buddy McGirt has a gym in LA.
