Reynoso on Benavidez: “How many champs has he beaten?, how many defenses of his title has he made? how many unifications has he completed? We want world champions!”

    https://www.boxingscene.com/canelo-c...-fight--162214

"No way [does Canelo have to face Benavidez next]. Great boxers are the ones who beat champions. I think Benavidez is a good fighter, but up until this point, for me he has not achieved what people think," Reynoso explained to Fox Deportes.

"My respects to him, but just take a look [and tell me] how many world champions has he beaten, how many defenses of his title has he made, how many unifications has he completed. We are going to look for the challenges, we are going to look for the champions and we are going to look for what's best for the career of Saul, and if the fight with Benavidez comes around, then we welcome it... it's boxing and it's business."

If Benavidez really wants to fight Canelo he should move up to175 and try to get a belt from one of the champs there.

Look at what Benavidez has done recently this past year, he fought Angulo at a catchweight of 171lbs and Kyrone Davis at a catchweight of 169lbs.

Might as well make 169-171lbs a Davidweight division ffs

Reynoso is right, Benavidez still does not deserve it.

I hope Lemieux turns down the interim fight so we can have Benavidez vs Jacobs, tremendous matchup.

Big difference is, Plant was disciplined enough not to lose his title belt at the scales unlike Benavidez who already lost his belt twice by snorting coke and being a fat fçk

As opposed to the great Makabu who won a vacant title at the second attempt, he got flattened in 3 rounds in his first vacant title fight. He’s made one defence and never unified.

True. Plant also defended his belt against the "who's who" of food truck workers and avoided stiff competition
