Comments Thread For: Porter: I Don't Think Anyone's Really Challenged Terence The Way Jose Benavidez Was Able To

Shawn Porter predicted he'll become the first fighter to beat Terence Crawford when they meet November 20 in Las Vegas. Thus far, though, Porter determined that Jose Benavidez Jr. gave Crawford the most difficult fight of his 13-year pro career. Crawford stopped a then-unbeaten Benavidez by 12th-round technical knockout in their fight for Crawford's WBO welterweight title three years ago at CHI Health Center in Crawford's hometown of Omaha, Nebraska.

I think Crawford wins on points. He has just about everything, although his chin is somewhat suspect I think.

Porter is a solid B level guy..he'll push TC simply because he is a middle linebacker. But he has no chance

If Porter can't get the KO in 5, game over! However, Bud does start slow, so he does have a chance!

So this article was done before Benavidez fought that sloppy bad draw where he seems as though he should just retire and just help his brother out! Now to Porter for a somewhat BS article because Porter like 5’ 5” with platforms on, and styles make fights and I give Porter way more credit as a better fighter than this Benavidez character. The 1st thing Porter needs to do is be yourself and that with your physical strength will be hard enough for Crawford seeing he has never fought anyone physically strong as you, but don’t try and out slick him and be the better boxer; your not!

Porter is like the Derek Chisora of the Welterweight division. Gives you a hard fight but will always lose against the top guys

Gamboa gave TC the hardest time; his speed was really troubling him.. until Crawford figured him out and caught him. In the Benevidez fight, TC was in control the whole time, he was just being cautious.

What’s up with Porter. Is he trying to bring up (again) a six foot guy compared to himself stylistically(?) against the cooler than cool switch hitter Bud??

Crawford ain’t falling for dumb mind games like that, he’s one of the top 5 fighters out here today, so if Porter’s focusing on mind games and not his own lacking footwork and telegraphic hooks(?) he’s in for some bad luck.

Which means, if Crawford even remotely struggles, he's not a top guy and never has been.
