I am starting to think nobody beats this version of Canelo

Alvarez is a great fighter
I didn’t ever see him as unbeatable
he has 3 to 4 fights that could have gone either way
and is often in competitive fights up until the koComment

its the case when fighters turn pro at 16 or whatever.
A lot of the pro’s were several weight classes below when they were 16, it’s just that they weren’t fighting as a pro, so it’s not on record as much.
Usyk was a middleweight as an amateur at a certain point, in his late teens I think, maybe older. So had he been pro at 16, it would’ve been the case for him.
I bet Floyd at 16 wasn’t significant bigger than a flyweight or bantamweight.
Manny is not some tiny flyweight that is competing at welterweight. He was just pro so young, so his progression in size was more public, like Canelo.
Canelo couldn’t make 154 anymore by his mid 20’s. I bet manny couldn’t make 135 that well once he got to 147. That’s a better gauge of their real size.Comment

You sound like a hater. He can fight 3 times a year because he doesn't take a lot of punishment during fights, he's still young, and stays in shape all year around. He retain his power because his body fully developed in the last few years.Comment

Maybe the lack of a cut facilitates his power? He can eat with less restriction in camp, making weight is less stressful and depleting etc.
his power seemed to carry as he went up in weight classes. his actual size prob didnt change much. he had some decision fights at 130-135 and so you got guys from there lasting the distance and then all of a sudden welters that cant go 12 with him. i dont think that canelo weighs 8 pounds more exactly than he did at middle he just cuts less but his power has increased.Comment

I've largely come to see it this way too. As a friend recently said, Canelo at 168 is in an impenetrable cartoon fortress right nowComment
