Comments Thread For: Wilder: I Don't Have Nothing To Prove; Nothing To Lose; All The Pressure Is On Fury

LAS VEGAS - Deontay Wilder promised a redemptive performance Saturday night that'll make him a two-time WBC heavyweight champion. The Alabama-based knockout artist mentioned the word "redemption" during a press conference Wednesday at MGM Grand Garden Arena. After a five-year reign as champion and 10 title defenses, though, Wilder apparently doesn't feel as though he has to prove himself to Tyson Fury or anyone else that doubts him following his one-sided, seventh-round, technical-knockout loss to Fury in their rematch in February 2020.

Wilder does have massive pressure too cause it’s now or never for him, he loses this and he’s finished in boxing. His careers on the line.

Honestly feel like it's almost the complete opposite. Fury can have a 'bad night' and people will chalk it up to just that. Wilder has to at minimum outperform his performance from fight 2.

If he gets rolled over in fight 3, I don't know what his excuses will be. He has kind of painted himself in a corner with how he handled the loss in fight 2. No one will want to hear it or care really if he gets rolled over in fight 3.

I'm starting to realize Wilder didn't have a dent in the side of head today, so either he lied and the dent was photo shopped, or he's friends with a great mechanic who has a top flight dent puller and did some light body work and a paint job on his skull

um its not like wilder is likely to completely outbox or outclass fury. if he wins, its by KO, and people will just say well he has elite power and knockouts can happen to anybody.

wilder is the one that has to bounce back and prove all those ****** excuses he made last fight are true and that he is the better fighter that he says he is.

Even if fury gets sparked out, he still is going to have won more total rounds out of their 3 fights on most peoples cards, so some will still see him as the better fighter and they would be 1-1-1

How is it his career over after a L? It's alot of contenders not fighting each other in the heavyweight division. It's still fights out there for him so that whole his "career is if he lose narrative is ****** in boxing if you keep fighting opposition in boxing that are good as you or slightly better loses will happens to everyone.

I seen a anxious and unscrewed Tyson Fury during today's press-conference. Tyson was desperate to have the crowd ( that BOOed him and call him a cheat ) believe his BS. Deontay is right, Tyson has to produce the same results, only this time without tampered gloves and poison.

Wilder said something that caused Tyson to become frantic and combative : that the Gypsy-Bum could not KO him under the worse condition that Wilder has ever been in ; that Tyson's 'win' was fabricated, and that Phooey has the burden to prove it was not.

Wilder really does have a upside down view of the world, he is the one that has lost, he needs to prove he can beat Fury, Fury already proved he could beat Wilder
