Comments Thread For: Fury: Sugar Hill The Most Knowledgeable, Experienced Boxing Man I've Ever Had Around Me

Tyson Fury appreciates Javan Steward more than ever, now that they've had a lot more time to work together. Steward, most commonly known by his nickname, "Sugar Hill," spent less than two months preparing Fury for his impressive victory over Deontay Wilder in their rematch, a seventh-round stoppage in February 2020 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Fury hired Steward to replace former trainer Ben Davison in December 2019 and they quickly rebuilt Fury into an aggressive knockout puncher prior to his second showdown with the hard-hitting Wilder.

LOVE the power shots from the last scrap. This is what was missing historically with him. Hope it continues!

I've said this many times b4. Ppl say why does Fury hit hard all of a sudden? They say it's glove manipulation, hog testicles, Wilder says it's a Juju (roots, voodoo). Nope. Fury is 270 lbs, has big hands and excellent skills. When the right fighter walks into the right trainer's gym, things sometimes happen. Sugar took a man with natural ability and added correct technique. Now Fury knows exactly what he's doing and why he's doing it. Most fans don't realize that boxing is truly a sweet science. The UK has a lot of coaches, but not many teachers. Over there, they can teach creative new ways to get ur face broken but that's about it. Sugar Hill is Kronk gym. A gym that makes punchers. Thomas Hitman Hearns, Lennox Lewis, Gerald McClellan, and many others over the years. Sugar Hill previously trained Adonis Superman Stevenson, one of the hardest punchers u ever saw. Fury works hard and is very intelligent. Seeing how fast and how well he was able to pick up Hill's teachings, i believe he will only keep learning and getting better. This is why I feel like Deontay will have some more Juju coming his way in a few days

Or Andy Lee finally told you to bite down on your punches. He acts like we don’t know he’s worked with sugar hill before…like when he was a younging getting trounced at Kronk which is why he left them in the first place.
