Geoge Kambosos Jr. Requested IBF To Find Triller In Default; Now Triller Asks IBF To Strip Kambosos Of His Status As Mandatory

Kambosos asked the IBF to place Triller in default for not staging the fight on October 4th. Triller had established a deadline last night for Kambosos to accept the fight. Kambosos refused. Now Triller will request the IBF to strip Kambosos of his mandatory status, to mandate the return of 1.5 million to Triller for the fighters and then to elevate Isaac Cruz as the next mandatory.

Kambosos' attorney stated that they wanted to have the fight in late October back in August, so now Triller claims Kambosos reneged on his statement that he would be willing to fight in the last half of October.

If it rules for the Isaac Cruz fight, then there would have to be another purse bid. It is speculated that Triller has already lost eight-million dollars. It's believed that Triller would not participate in that purse bid. It also means that neither fighter would receive anything in escrow. That would mean both fighters had several camps at their own expense and see absolutely ZERO in return.

This is the gift that keeps on giving—if you are into telenovelas.

Surprised there isn't more chatter on this. The more I read of it, the more I sympathize for Kambosos. According to Rafael, they sent him a revised contract that had different language than Lopez' contract. It contained numerous typos and also said that the fight could be held in NY, Florida or possibly a third state (California maybe?).

It makes me wonder if Triller is really this bad/incompetent of an operation or if they have been trying to kill the fight from happening and do it in a way to blame someone else and try to recoup the deposit in escrow.

It's disappointing that the IBF has been silent thus far, perhaps they are going over everything with their attorneys. They need to rule Triller I'm default, give the deposit to the fighters and offer the fight to either Matchroom or Top Rank. I'm not sure how enthusiastic Hearn and DAZN are about.taking this fight but they did state they could do it before the end of the year (likely November). We'll see....

Why is nobody else reporting this? Don't get me wrong, because I personally don't care for this fight.

What I also find weird is the reporting that a belt org can find anyone in default. That's for judicial or quasi-judicial tribunals. IBF is neither and has no jurisdiction. They can only deal with dates or stripping the holder of their belt.

Yeah. Well, whatever the case, it's going on the DAZN now through Matchroom and Hearn. I'll make a new thread for the new information. It'd be nice to hear from the IBF, however, one what's happening with Kambosos, the money in escrow and other matters.

This is another area, I believe, the IBF has no jurisdiction. It's the job of legal or semi-legal tribunals.

Yeah. I agree. And it appears that whatever the case, Triller has now pulled out entirely, so they no longer have an argument to keep the money or to have Kambosos removed from the IBF rankings.

Now we get to see if Kambosos can make are day and KTEOTFO haha (or just take his belts).
