Boxing is the ultimate sport for the Soldier, Sailor, Marine, Airman, or Coastie. Boxing not only demands too fitness but it teaches the mind to think both strategically and tactically. You must formulate a strategy outlining your strengths and your opponents weakness and match them so it results in a likely victory. Foot movement, head movement, small strikes intended to probe your opponents defence, power punches intended to knock him out, knowing when to press forward and when to give ground, controlling the distance being akin to selecting the best ground for yourself, body work designed to sap your opponent of his logistical support…..wearing the body down is directly akin to denying a brigade or division its beans, bullets, and boots. And it’s all mental, who wants it more wins. As the SAS (British, Australian, and Qiwis) say, “who dares wins.”
