Comments Thread For: Oscar Valdez's "B" Sample Tests Positive, Title Fight With Robson Conceicao In Jeopardy

Oscar Valdez awaits his fate. The undefeated two-time and reigning WBC junior lightweight titlist is at risk of losing out on a scheduled September 10 title defense versus Brazil's three-time Olympian and 2016 Gold medalist Robson Conceicao (16-0, 8KOSs) due to drug testing violation. Valdez tested positive for Phentermine as produced in a sample collected August 13 by agents contracted through Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA). The "B" sample--which was tested earlier this week at the request of Valdez--came back positive, days after it was learned that the "A" sample showed evidence of the substance in his system.

"he remains—as a WBC champion—in violation of the sanctioning body’s Clean Boxing Program testing. . ."

            And there we have it.

If WBC dont strip him, they might as will just scrap this "clean boxing" bs.

Why only in jeopardy? Fight has to be off and a suspension is in order. A and B samples both hot, nothing to discuss.

The B-sample was going to come back positive since it almost is the same as the A-sample. Very rarely do you see cases of the A-sample being positive and the B-sample coming back negative.

The question here will be if the Arizona commission cancels the fight off the VADA ruling or continues it since Valdez did not violate any WADA guidelines. And VADA was not the contracted drug agency for this fight.

Not a guarantee the fight gets canceled and Valdez will be stripped.

In the UK, he would have had a non disclosure claus, beat the brakes off the guy, then have the B sample dissappeared.

Boxing is a joke if they let this guy fight with a banned substance in his system.
