Comments Thread For: Oscar De La Hoya Says Belfort Fight Makes Or Breaks Him, Expects War Against Ex-UFC Champ

Oscar De La Hoya will forever go down as one of the best boxers of his generation. At the age of 48, the Hall of Fame fighter and six division champion De La Hoya (39-6, 30 KOs) says his Sept. 11 comeback fight against former UFC champion Vitor Belfort, who'll be fighting for just the second time as a pro boxer after accumulating a record of 28-14 in MMA, is one of the most significant match-ups of his decorated career.

Belfort looks roided to the gills.

I hope Oscar is taking that into account.

Easy fight for Oscar, it’s not like Belfort is a boxer or anything. And his lack of steroid use these last few years has made him look human after the abuse of PED.

"Expects a war"?? Oscar does not even have a war left in him and this exhibition match will be far from that anyway.

It should be quite easy for Oscar, an older but former great boxer against a former great or very good mma fighter, in a boxing match.

Imagine feeling ripped off when he fought Pacquiao..

fast forward years later and it’s an older and slower version.

                  DLH fighting at 175 lmao

He hasnt taken his shirt off in public yet. I bet he has loose skin or stretch marks and chit.

I was surprised he did lose a lot of weight since the spring.

Belfort still looks pretty big, i wonder how much he has to cut to make 175. that is going to be hard on him and if oscar is smart he will let him wear down the first 4 rounds and come in hard the second half of the fight

Oscars life is such a train wreck though that I cant rule out the possibility he gets sparked out by a 44 year old shot MMA fighter. It sounds just like something oscar woudl do at this point in his life.
