I was tired and had a few glasses of wine by the time I got to the stoppage but felt it was a bit hasty but it didn't really alter the outcome on my card.

Most ppl hate him just cos of how he acts and not for his boxing knowledge or what they perceive as his lack of, but more that he just rubs ppl up the wrong way, I've been saying this for over a year now though, he's a good trainer, and honestly knows his s**t, u were a good sport though to admit he did a good job tonight, most would have just carried on hating for the sake of it and not even acknowledged the job done, so well done sir, I totally get why u don't like him though, he comes across as a bit of a prick I'm not gonna lie
He’s massively overrated for me, a decent tactician but he’s only trained ready made fighters. You don’t deserve all that much credit for that.

It’s not like Shane McGuigan taking Carl Frampton from amateur to world champion, or Josh Taylor from pro debut to world champion.

Or the Ingles finding young kids like Brook and Naz and turning them into world champions, that’s real coaching.

Pretty crazy for someone his age with no personal experience.
He’s only lost one fight in his training career as head trainer and that was with Tom Little in 2016. And even in that fight he never actually trained him for the camp, he was head trainer for fight night.

so basically he’s undefeated when it comes to fighters he actually trained.

          That I’d agree with

then again, Freddie Roach has been pretty much doing the same thing as Ben Davison in terms of not developing fighters from the ground up, yet he’s considered one of the great trainers.

To be fair to Davison, he’s only really made a name for himself in the past couple of years, so maybe now he will start getting some amateurs turning over the pro game. Then we’ll see what he can do with them.

I think he clearly has a lot of tactical knowledge, and has obviously ran training camps for top fighters now. So he’s only going to get better.

as much as some don’t like him, he’s going to be around a long time having success, in my opinion.

Yeah I pretty much agree mate, if Ben takes a a kid fresh out the ABA’s and turns him into a champion then I’ll stand down and admit I was wrong, but I won’t consider him a top coach until he does do that. That’s real coaching IMO, not cornering Josh Taylor, Fury, Saunders etc when they’re already champions.

            • I understand the point you're making & it is one that Breadman always makes. But Leigh's career was going nowhere under previous trainers. He'd grown up with the Ingles then moved. He was seen as a threat at British level, nothing more. Ben Davidson has revitalised the man's career. To me, he deserves loads of credit. In a way he reminds me of Adam Booth, he is a 'marmite' guy & a lot of folks just hate the sight of him, but I would give some credit where it is due & it is undoubtedly due on that performance.

To me, the obvious fight now is Wood v Warrington. I would also expect Xu Can to push for a rematch because he didn't look himself last night. I don't believe LSC will ever fight again after that knockout. As has been said, Leigh needs a few fights at world level before considering Navarette.

That's a fair statement, but I'm certain he will, in the next five years, he will take someone from amateur's to boxings pinnacle, I'm sure of it
