  • Comments Thread For: Gervonta Davis: Doesn't Really Matter There's No Weight Limit For Barrios On Fight Night

ATLANTA - Neither Mario Barrios nor Gervonta Davis can step on the scale at more than 140 pounds when they weigh in Friday afternoon. There is no limit to how much either fighter can weigh, however, when they step into the ring Saturday night at State Farm Arena. Davis didn't want any weight restrictions placed on Barrios because he doesn't want fans and media to criticize him for limiting the defending champion in their 12-round title fight.

This is more advantageous for Tank anyways.

I expect a real war. Barrios can fight and he can box. He's not just the much bigger-stronger-taller guy, he's young, fresh, undefeated with a lots of guts. Virgil has a perfect game plan for a upset win.

Davis is going for body shots...right in front of him for as long as it lasts...speed and power, too easy.

I think it’s no secret tanks gonna be looking to work the body and land uppercuts. Hopefully Barrios has been working on his jab and utilizes his height and reach. No need to try fighting on the inside

Davis means he at least didn't drain Barrios to 136 or so. Straight OG.

Tank wont get any credit from his detractors no matter what he does. Teo is a great example of this. He knocked Lomo off his pedestal and still got no respect from the naysayers. Tank verybwell could become a global superstar IMO and I wish him well. I would love to see him in against Teo and Ryan though at 135 soon.
