Comments Thread For: Hatton Furious Over Mayweather-Paul: I Worked Hard To Earn Floyd Shot

Former two division champion Ricky Hatton is not a fan of Sunday's showdown between Floyd Mayweather and social media superstar Logan Paul. Mayweather, 44-years-old and a former five division world champion, knocked Hatton out in what was a blockbuster Las Vegas fight in 2007.

I agree with Hatton but Mayweather is not the first pro boxer to make spectacle fights when he was old/retired/past prime. So if Ricky Hatton wants to talk about disrespect “the great champions of old” he should mention the great champions of old doing the same thing.

Let’s start with Ali boxing an NFL player for staters. Let’s also add Jack Dempsey and George Forman vs 5 “boxers” in one night. Let’s not forget about DLH vs Shaq.

But yeah, what Mayweather is doing is “bad” for boxing, but not new. And he certainly was not the first to do it. Boxers have been trying out WWE style matches since before anyone who posts in this thread was born.

        The Power Of May

The recipe is still on point
        Their hate, his gain
It's OK (not that a grown man needs an OK from a bunch of HYPOCRITICAL sour pusses) for every other retired boxer to pull this stunt, JUST NOT MAY

People act as if by this exhibition match taking place, the world will self destruct the next day.

        A bunch of weeping willows

And as for ''former 2 div champ'' compliment
How many of those MFers are around

To some extent I agree with Hatton, although In sure he would take a big payday with a celebrity as well.

Floyd isn't too concerned with legacy probably, and he does he have his health intact it seems.

His 0 on his record is somewhat of an illusion, seeing as I believe he got the benefit of a few gift decisions, but a great defensive boxer nonetheless, if not very entertaining.
