Last week, it was announced that Manny Pacquiao (62-7-2) will return to the ring after a 2 year hiatus against WBC and IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence (27-0). The fight will headline a FOX pay-per-view event that will take place at a venue in Las Vegas.

Agree. After seeing how Porter handled Spence I don't see how Pacquiao loses this one. All in on the Pacman.

"The Senator has very fast, deceiving feet and that is what people don't realize and what Keith Thurman didn't realize."

Keith Thurman wasn't a Southpaw, and he barely survived Josesito Lopez! In fact I think Lopez hurt Thurman more than Pacquiao!

I hate when they say "so and so fighter is not the same". Just take advantage of it if that's how the team feels; but don't say it. It makes it sound like your banking on the other guy not being as good as he can be to actually win.

I get what this guy is saying and I don't necessarily disagree, but didn't Pac lose the last two times he faced another southpaw?

Pac doesn't seem to be good against the southpaw style, what I mean is, his angles dont seem to work as efficiently.

I think he is also forgetting how versatile Spence is good both on the outside and the inside, and he is a very good counter puncher himself.

It will be interesting though to see what defensive movements Manny will have once Spence has him on the ropes. Spence likes to put his opponents on the ropes and beat them up there.

Manny gonna have to avoid that especially if Spence is aiming for the KO. As the rounds go on his legs will tire and he will probably want to rest a little actually a lot if the Thurman fight is anything to go by.

Manny has to have a way of making Spence think he is fine because Spence carries people at a very high tempo. Even Shawn Porter was gassed in the last two rounds and couldn't keep up with Spence anymore, and that was an ill disciplined, fat camp Spence.

Manny's hard counter punching and timing are gonna be very important in the second half to keep Spence from steamrolling him.

What are your thoughts on PAC fighting Broner, Mathysse, Clottey, Margarito, Mosley, Cotto, etc when they were all coming off losses or catchweights??
Also, Marquez blasted PAC out and Floyd, Horn and Bradley beat him, so what is it about Spence that you see as a deficit?

I personally thought Spence performance against Danny was excellent. The guy had no tuneup, jumped in the ring and dominated danny. Apart from Shawn porter, Errol is barely losing rounds, he’s solid, has an almost impenetrable orb around him and his defence is much better than people think, Spence defends by attacking, his jab and body work with his work rate, I just believe he will be too much for Manny.

I cannot express how much I rate manny for even wanting this fight, give the man all the credit he deserves, Thurman and Spence back to back is no easy feat for a young man, never mind the age PAC is at.

if this is manny last year in boxing, he’s giving us a great fight to sign off on, in an era when everyone wants the easy option, he’s took quite possibly the steepest challenge available to him.

he could of took mikey and had it easy but no. Guy deserves flowers thrown at his feet!

What a fight! I hope the entire card matches up well. Fill it with fighters who go for the ko with big power or fighters who know how to fight their hearts out and leave nothing in the tank. Jarron Ennis would be good for the undercard, Fundora, etc etc. And I do hope that FOX heavily promotes the fight. Bring back the FOX shoulder programming for the lead up

Garcia is tailor made for a Spence type. He lets rounds go and he has a low tempo style. Looks to counter a lot and has success with it. Pressure on Garcia breaks him.

Apart from Porter, Spence has fought hardly anybody, like nobody.

Pacquiao's speed, angles, tempo, and awkwardness is going to give Spence problems.

                    Interesting.

So people say "look how Porter did, Manny beats Spence".

Porter gives EVERYONE hard work. That's why Crawford actively avoided him.
