I think it is an incredible fallacy for anyone to believe Tyson Fury would duck any fight.
The man literally gives zero f^cks. The boxing politics mean f^ck all to him and it's really shows.
He's already stepped in the ring where Anthony Joshua limp d*cked around for YEARS by (Fury) simply fighting Wilder not once but twice! And now a THIRD time on top of that.
I am not a fan of Fury but I respect the guy. I think people let things get to their heads way too much about sports and thinking Fury wanted to weasel his way out of a fight with AJ is just absolute nonsense.
This fight was in the contract and nobody knew when Wilder was going to come back. At least Fury was trying to stay active with big fights in the game while Wilder was waiting in the bushes with his conspiracy theories.Comment

It wouldn't surprise me at all if in fact both sides knew the entire time the fight was not likely but saw it as an opportunity to keep their fighters' names in headlines for a while without having to make an actual fight. Just, publicity. Give two narratives and let lemmings pick a side and fight it out.
We'll be talking about Joshua and Fury not fighting for a while now too.Comment

Hearn tried to steal Fury away and got burned. Undisputed can still happen right after Wilder smokes Fury in dramatic fashion, regains the WBC belt, becomes the new RING champion, and is the new lineal king of the heavyweight division.
July 24th can't come soon enough...Comment

I believe everyone is missing something here. Fury has had a huge period of inactivity and it's clear that he saw Joshua (more active) as a HUGE risk.
It seems he decided that taking an equally (if not more so) inactive Wilder who has limited time to have training camp (vs Joshua who is always in training camp) - he took this option as the 'safer' route.
Admitted Fury took enormous risk to face Wilder twice but at that time he was desperate and had fewer options. First time is well documented on 3 year lay off and huge weight gain. Second time he had a '2nd shot' at WBC belt almost immediately with all others locked up with Joshua whom for ego reasons he didn't want to give control.
In summary, Fury jumped at the opportunity to take an 'interim' fight to (in his mind) level the playing field when he and Joshua match up (most likely Dec or Jan).
It's also clear that Arum, Fury and team are extremely unprofessional as whatever you say about Hearn, he was going solo. Hearn however alienates / irritates people with his incessant talking / boasting etc - that still doesn't justify basically scuppering a fight that was 6 months in making and could now be permanently at risk. I think it's kind of ridiculous to suggest he was jetsetting to Saudi for 6 months as 'an act'.
Secondly, I 100% agree w/ Hearn points in interview that the general ruling of Arbitration is damages (not ordering a rematch) and even in the call w/ Arum he indicated damages. The fact that they didn't even TRY to find a resolution says everything about Fury and Arum mentality on this fight. Within a few days of the 'arbitration ruling' they had contracts signed - how is that not suspect? Furthermore IF (and I don't believe it did frankly) the arbitration had ordered a rematch with a date - then there is clearly something going on with Haymon in the background. It's also interesting that Fury and Warren specifically mentioned 20Mn as a figure that Wilder demanded. There was no attempt to split that with Joshua to make the fight.Comment

Wow!!! Nail on the headThe only fight for AJ is Usyk. He is the mandatory. Get him out the way so there wont be anything blocking undisputed in december.
Eddie think he slick. He wanna save that usyk mandatory just in case wilder wins.
I bet the house joshua vs wilder for undisputed isn't next if wilder beats fury in july. Eddie and this whole forum will shift gears and say undisputed aint necessaryComment

I called it a year ago this fight wasn't gonna happen. Unless Eddie is dumbest guy on planet, he knew Wilder fight was happening.
Just like I said a year a go, AJ avoids fury just like, he avoided Wilder, followed by a lot of finger pointing by Eddie and hearniacsComment
