Comments Thread For: Josh Taylor-Jose Ramirez: Stats and Stakes

By Cliff Rold - One won the World Boxing Super Series. The other won a series of fights that ended up being almost the equivalent. In boxing, we rarely get a true process of elimination. Saturday (8 PM EST), we will see the culmination of a genuine whittling. Josh Taylor's run through what was a tough tournament included title wins over Ivan Baranchyk and the excellent Regis Prograis after a pre-tournament victory over former titlist

Does Ramirez have the heavier hands, Taylor has a higher KO percentage.

Everything has been said, every angel and possible outcome from all the writers and talkers. It will be a good fight really saying something there I know. I do not see it going the distance just a gut feeling on this one. I hope it turns out so good that they have to do it again and not bc of judges or a ref just bc it was that solid and close of a fight. Even if the guy I picked dont win I still believe I will get my moneys worth. Looks like Zepada came in a little heavy nothing too much but he walked up to the scale very lightly cracked me up I knew he would be close or a bit over. Anyhow going to be interesting. Will that effect his fight ? Enjoy it..............

Amazing chemistry in this fight. I have surprised myself in this one and have switched late to Ramirez, late KO with a heavy left to Ramirez

Should be a great fight while it last. I've thought all along that Taylor would win this pretty easily but I now have it closer. Taylor proved more against Prograis. Zepeda and Hooker are B-C level at best but who knows. I say Taylor stoppage in 10. Neither one should jump straight to Bud though. At least one fight at 147 will be needed.

Taylor went life and death with Prograis, wound up with his eye busted. Ramirez wiped Hooker out. Both Hooker an Prograis beat Flanigan by decision, and Prograis did it in the Bayou. I dont see what makes him any better than Hooker. Worse, Prograis is still talking trash, Maurice has been sublimed.
