There are four major belts, legit titles. Wbo, wba (super), wbc and ibf. Each of those, except ibf, also has a bunch of secondary titles, like interims and regulars. For instance, tank has the wba world lightweight title. But teofimo lopez has the wba SUPER world lightweight title. Now how is it that two guys can hold a title in the same sanctioning body (wba), same weight class (lightweight)? One is the actual champion the other isnt. At super featherweight Tank is the actual champion, holding the wba
SUPER world super featherweight title. Its ****** as hell to have so many f’n titles but boxing does this to itself. Anyway, Tank is a 1 division champion. If he beats barrios, he’ll still be a 1 div champ because josh taylor is the wba SUPER world super lightweight champ, not mario barrios. A lil research goes a long way. Hope this helps.
