Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder: Arbitration Judge Orders Third Fight

Yet another hurdle has been placed on the road to crowning an undisputed heavyweight champion. Lineal and WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will have to honor a contractual clause which calls for a third fight with Deontay Wilder, arbitration judge Daniel Weinstein ruled on Monday. The case was the subject of a months-long legal battle, serving as among the contributing factors in delaying a desired undisputed heavyweight championship showdown between Fury and WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO heavyweight titlist Anthony Joshua (24-1, 22KOs).

Is this guy reliable? Is this newspaper reliable? I can never tell with these UK outlets.

But all through that both Fury and Wilder's camps were taking part in a mediation over the contract from their fight.

It was expected that the ruling would see the American paid a significant sum to step aside for the Joshua fight to happen on August 14.

That was despite Fury's team feeling the contract for the third fight had expired as the initial agreement stated it had to take place by July 2020.

But now judge Daniel Weinstein – who oversaw the arbitration – has ruled that a rematch must take place.

It is not known if Fury's team can now appeal this decision.

Arum just said in another vid if Wilder wins arbitration it CAN derail undisputed. I think its legit. I've been saying that I knew this leftist judge would use covid to rule for Wilder(thats what leftists do,they want everyone to treat covid like the bubonic plague & throw out all precedent)

I see, but didn't know how reliable this reporter was or not or the newspaper. There's a bunch of stuff that gets reported from out there that is not true.

I didn't see the Arum video, was it from today?

            Now Kriegel confirms it.

Before September? Man, get that fight in by July and the winner can get Joshua before year's end.

Why the hell did Fury announce the fight is a done deal yesterday if he knew a decision was going to be made soon?

The sad part now is joshua will most likely be tied up in Mandos for the next 2-3 fights I’d imagine as so much time had passed

Fury is a hell of a fighter but dealing with him is not the easiest. Out of nowhere the first time the Wilder rematch got delayed when he signed with TR and now this.

But I'd imagine Joshua can still get the winner of the trilogy later this year, should he beat Usyk.

OR maybe the winner of Joshua/Fury guarantee Wilder a shot next and give him some step aside money?
