After moving up from CW Holyfield fought 6 times at HW before he went for a title against Buster Douglas. During that time many were writing off his chances of ever becoming HW champion for the same reason that many write off Usyk today. They thought he wasn't big enough or strong enough for the best in the division.
Where did this narrative that Usyk was some top tier heavyweight come from

Different type of fighter entirely. Robbie actually has a point. Haye is a puncher, an ambush fighter. usyk does not have a big punch and has to stay in front of his opponent all night... A good analogy would be: Haye: Bob Foster Usyk: James Tunney. Not making the analogy based on ability, but on how a world class cruiser approaches the big boys. One set of guys comes up because of the punch, the other because of activity level, boxing skills. Then we have to see IF... haye, like foster had a punch that carried, Tunney had the skills and enough juice to keep Dempsey, etc honest... We still do not know about Usyk.
Wlad couldn't lay a glove on Usyk in sparring, which is why he only sparred him once, and he wouldn't have touched him in a fight either.
If you think triangle theory is the way to compare fighters - Haye got KTFO twice by Bellew, who got KTFO himself by Usyk.
But I prefer to go by resume and accomplishments. Usyk is obviously levels above Haye. He was world and Olympic champion as an amateur. As a pro he literally cleaned out a cruiserweight division that was much more competitive than it was in Hayes's day.
Ok, Haye won a world title at HW ... against Valuev, one of the poorest world HW champions in the history of the division.

Parker Andy ruiz and chisora aren't title holders budUnified undisputed CW champion moves up to HW and some people are upset that people give him a chance to win a world title?
Dude is easily a top 10 guy and its yet to be seen if he is a top 3 guy.
Chisora just fought to A SD loss where he was very competitive with Joseph Parker who isn't quite a slouch hhimself. Andy Ruiz had a tougher than expected outing himself.
Usyk has a shot against any of those guys but nah, all yall pu$$ies hurt even though you pretend to be grown ass men.Comment

I guess we will find out soon enough ...what other people see as an obvious failure you see him as having a chance??

Usyk is trash at heavyweight ..one of the best things things him at cruiser was his workrate and movement something he really lacks at heavyweightComment

Usyk hurt Chisora, Parker stunned him only once and late when Chisora was winding more and Parker shouldn’t have even won the fight . Usyk sets up punches better then Haye by far and sneaks them so being a big puncher isn’t even real ,the shots he gets guys with are ones he sneaks in going for the power shots . Why does Usyk have to prove himself and we still have Parker a ranked top guy who every knows isn’t the boxer Usyk is ? What does Usyk have to prove to be considered a legit heavyweight ?

Usyk hits hard enough to flatten Bellew, who Haye couldn't buzz in 2 fights. He also had Chisora wobbling at the end of the 7th in their fight. Imo, Usyk's stamina, chin, skills and high work rate make him a bigger threat to the top tier HWs than Haye's big right hand ever did. All the top HWs can KO each other if they land clean. Fury is the only one who can match Usyk for skills and stamina.

Usyk beat Chisora easier than Parker and Whyte did, and they are both proven top 10 HWs. It beats me why people are still asking if he can hack it at HW when that question has already been answered. Whether he can dominate at HW like he did at CW is another question, of course.
