  • Comments Thread For: Michael Conlan Overcomes Ionut Baluta With Majority Decision in Tough Fight

Michael Conlan kept on track for what he hopes will be a world title shot in the next six months, but only just, as he claimed a majority decision over Ionut Baluta at York Hall in London on Friday night.

It is so obvious Conlan's ceiling is clearly below the elite level. He doesn't have any speed and backs away from a guy who only has 3 KO's. Fulton and the rest like Nery, even Dogboe would defeat him. I would even put money on Ronnie Rios beating him. I am unimpressed altogether.

I agree. He’s an average fighter. No hand speed doesn’t appear to pack a big punch and takes a lot of punches. Was not impressed with his defense tonight at all. He’s a decent fighter but certainly not as an elite level.

I hope Conlan is being smart with his money. The gig is going to be up soon. Giving Olympic judges the finger can only take him so far.

            Conlan sucks.

I've seen very little progress in him since his pro debut.

Not a bad win as Baluta was capable of making it tough for him.

Dogboe would of had his way with Conlan if they had fought last year as planned.

Garbage fighter, garbage trainer, zero improvement, Conlan will be working in a pub soon...
