Comments Thread For: Canelo Alvarez: I Had COVID; I Trained For Only One Month For The Yildirim Fight

Canelo Alvarez had even less time to train for the Avni Yildirim mismatch than anyone realized. Alvarez trained for only one month for that mandated defense of his WBC super middleweight title because he contracted COVID-19 sometime after he defeated Callum Smith on December 19. The four-division champion dominated Yildirim anyway, but he hadn't revealed his battle with the coronavirus until a recent interview with Graham Bensinger.

He didn’t have to have to, instead he chose to beat GGG’s ass!

Canelo certainly revealed more in this interview than he has in years, quite an insight in his life lately.

Makes you wonder what if Yildrim had gone for broke from the opening bell...

Planting seeds for when Saunders schools him. Then he’ll say all these things finally caught to with him.

Only 8 days to go until everything I’ve said for years comes true. Bad judging aside, Canelo can not beat a 100% Saunders

just as I said Wlad cannot beat Fury, people here laughed. “Who has Fury ever beaten?” they said. “He looked terrible against X, how can he beat Wlad!!?!?” Ther said - the same things they’re saying about BJS

but I know how good he is. I’ll be right again.

Canelo isn’t ******, reality is dawning upon him and he’s putting little exposing excuses out. This isn’t some big stiff dummy with no footwork or boxing brain walking towards him.

He would’ve been flattened quicker. We’re talking about a guy that got wiped out by Eubank Jr in 3 rounds.
