Comments Thread For: DAZN, Sky Sports and Eddie Hearn's Big Deal

Eddie Hearn's decision to agree broadcast deal with DAZN in the UK and break with Sky Sports could lead to the biggest shake-up in British boxing in years. Hearn is expected to launch his new five-year deal with another series of Fight Camp shows in the back garden of his old home in Essex this summer - this time with paying fans in attendance. But having ended one of the longest broadcasting partnerships in the sport, his decision potentially gives an opening to rival promoters keen to make an impact.

Different times. Would be nice if he leaves Comcast puppet Sky.

Ffs, between boxing and football (and I'm sure plenty of other sports) it's ridiculous how many different subscription services you have to pay for

Can he convince enough people to buy another one is the question? Because I doubt many people will cancel their access to Premier League games which is probably why Sky weren't prepared to budge far with its budget

I know I'm old fashioned. But this really makes me sad. I'm happy to pay sky to watch matchroom events. I really have no interest in getting dazn. And folks wonder why illegal streaming and *******s are still a thing.

At 1.99 a month it won't take much convicing, especially if DAZN bid on & win rights for UK Premier Leage Football.

This is like the UFC ESPN deal. They desperatly need a steady source of $$ because business isn't good. They had to get this deal done quickly, while they can still hype things up to get people to bite.
