Skill wise DLH is wrong, profile wise DLH is right. Haney had more sports fan attention when he was fighting on Showtime than when he went with that ignorant app run by that silver spoon snake oil salesmen from
    Essex

Garcia does have the greater profile, which is why he would be the A-side getting the lion’s share of the money if he fights Haney.

No one is dis*****g that Ryan Garcia is the bigger draw. My thought is that Devin Haney isn’t any less popular than Javier Fortuna so I don’t understand talking up a contender while dismissing an equally or more popular belt-holder.

And before anyone starts with the “email champion” talk, Loma chose not to fight Haney so Haney’s interim title was upgraded. Now Devin has the title and he is looking to validate it by facing top guys. Top guys then call it an email title so he’s now set to face a guy who has a close win over Garcia’s best win (Jorge Linares over Luke Campbell).

If Haney defeats Linares then I think he is right there with Garcia in terms of resume.

Good point. Haney was a hot topic when he was fighting on ShoBox.

I personally believe Haney might be the best of the bunch but I agree with Oscar Haney needs 2 more wins against Linares level fighters then a fight with him and Garcia can be big time and should happen early next year .

Once he builds a better profile and resume, the fight won't happen because of money. After that it'll be that he needs to cross to whatever other side or to boring. Yes, we know how it works lol!!

Maybe fight the guy based on skill not resume or before he loses and the value goes down. Crazy idea but, why not just fight to prove that you're without doubt THE best..that's just me.

In today’s moisty, millenial, soy boy, pumpkin ****e generation of social media all one has to do is not be a draw at all, be email gifted a title, not draw flies to dog s h! T, yap like a chihuahua calling out so and so and therefore you’re now a contender. Social Media has made sports garbage.

Haney’s opposition record before being emailed a belt was 185-155. Ryan 320-96 yet the yapping chihuahua, the one emailed a title is therefore entitled to any opposition he names while he remains the laughingstock of the division within all the contender circles because he’s literally fought no one of significance.

oh how I wish we were in the 80s mentality again. Social media is garbage and a cancer to sports. It aligns groupies against groupies and so begins circular arguments.

Straight up duck. Fortuna is no push over so this will test Garcia. A fight against Haney will sell but like every other promoter they will cash in Garcia's popularity and not match him against top opposition. Garcia is popular because of the internet, he has not beaten anyone of note.
