  • Floyd Mayweather deserves a LOT of credit for rematching Maidana.

Maidana completely embarrassed Broner and Mayweather stepped up not once, but twice.

Very close first fight and Mayweather was 37 going on 38 in the rematch.

That's what true pound for pound greats do. If there is any doubt, they erase it. Nobody who dodges rematches in controversial wins can truly be a pound for pound king.

But maidana weren't that great..Floyd shouldn't be losing to the maidana of this world anyway.
Rematching biggest rivals is more important. Because even beating your biggest rival twice don't mean you'll end up a higher ATG. But beating them twice is better than once.

Floyd got rocked in the 3rd round! Crazy chin and recuperative powers. I personally thought Floyd won the first match 8-4, 7-5 at WORST, but it's cool he gave a rematch to arguably his toughest fight ever.

true but Floyd beat Manny easily so nobody really wanted to see a rematch. Plus floyd is a higher ATG than Manny.

Please man. Marcos Madonna was a crude C fighter that Floyd should have outboxed easy the first time around. Khan won the poll.

Wasted two fights on this guy when you had prime Thurman.

He done the same with Castillo too, people can criticise Floyd for not fighting guys at their peak but you can’t criticise him for avoiding rematches. The two closest fights he had (aside from maybe De La Hoya) he gave immediate rematches.

Don't change subject. It's not about Rematching hardest/toughest matches. It's about proving you can beat your biggest rival more times in a triology. People say Floyd would beat pac or nel o or dlh 10 times out of ten. Well beat them twice at the very least and we might believe it

A rematch with a ref that served as his guardian angel. Fans wanted him to fight Khan all along, instead they got a robbery of Maidana in a cherry pick gone wrong and a rematch that was going to be impossible for Marcos to win without a KO.

Honestly I didn’t mind the rematch, but the first fight? He should have fought Khan... I guess you cannot fight everyone.

Manny got knocked out by guys that was not as good as Maidaina, Thurman was nearly stopped by Lopez who Maidana stopped, you need to read form not only hype there is so much you dont see.
